Art Test Work

Yes, yes, yes, I know it has been quite a long time since my last blog update.
For the past year I have been working on a freelance animation job that I will probably make a post about in the near future, but right now I'd like to update my blog with some new artwork!!!!

Recently I applied for a job at a mobile game studio and had to take an art test.
The art test consisted of creating game-ready assets in Adobe Illustrator from concept art given to me, create 6 cubes in Illustrator and design them to give off the effect of a certain texture (water, chrome, crystal, fire, fur, and wood), and the last one was to design a concept of a character myself in Photoshop.

Sadly, I did not make the cut for the job, but I am still very proud of the work I completed given the short amount of time I had to make them. I had 3 days to make them, but it was more like 2 1/4 because I had no internet the first day to look up reference and tutorials to help brush up my Illustrator skills (it had been about 2 years since I last worked with Illustrator when I interned at Neo-Pangea, so my memory of the program was a bit rusty)

I will be placing these pieces in the Gallery section as well.

Wow I haven't updated in a while

Sorry for disappearing for so long!
A lot has happened since my last few posts. I no longer work with Neo Pangea, but I still continue to work with Ben Caldwell and I even got a freelance animation job!
Not much I can share about the animation job right now. I am currently working on animated videos about the letters of the alphabet to help teach children english.

I can, however share some stuff I've been working on with Ben (and I'm actually surprised I completely forgot to post it on here because I was so happy about it).

I HELPED WORK ON AN ISSUE OF A HARLEY QUINN ANUAL!!!!
I was so excited to be able to work on this since I'm a big fan of Harley, and I especially loved the story in this issue. It was very quirky and colorful. I specifically worked on some of the coloring.

Neo Pangea week 6 (& 7?)

I took off a week to get ready for Katsucon (what a week that was), I will also be posting photos of the work I did for that in my "Other Work" section. This is the work I did before and after that week.

More logos!

Neo Pangea Internship Week3

Originally my internship was only supposed to last 2 weeks, but luckily I've been asked to keep coming in! That means more experience to put on my resume, and more awesome art to make and share!

Pokemon Challenge Day 4: Favorite Electric Type - Zapdos

Since Zapdos is a legendary pokemon I figured I'd have to do something great with this, not just your old boring drawing. I was originally going to draw a cute fluff ball baby zapdos, but as I was drawing the face I got inspiration to take it in another direction. So now it's more of a painting. I also gave Zapdos a more bird-like look. It's original design is bulky and clunky, and it honestly doesn't resemble much of a bird. It kind of just looks like a bunch of spikes.
At first I was kind of intimidated to draw Zapdos because of it's chaotic design and I almost went with my second favorite, Pachirisu, instead. So glad I didn't, I'm really proud how this came out.
